I apologise that the blog has been quiet here for some time, It always seems to be the way when the year seems to rush on past the halfway point gathering momentum faster than realised. We have had a very small group, but have been continuing to craft a little sunshine for the school and the fair…
crocheting around darling little bottle vases
knitting little kittens
and letting our imagination loose on calico bags
We hope to be back up to speed and posting regularly again as the school fair looms ever closer. Please put the first Saturday in November on your calendar and start saving that loose change for a crafted treasure or two! We can’t wait to see you there !
As the term quickly draws to a close it is great to see some more projects being finished off for the fair. This week it was some lovely dress up or birthday crowns embellished and hand sewn in felt fit for little princes and princesses or even one for a deep sea Poseidon. Next week we hope to sew up some capes and simple dress ups to accompany them.
A felt crown fit for a princess
Diane was also on hand to sew some of our soft hand knitted squares and crocheted squares into bunnies and kittens. A big thanks to all who have knitted and crocheted at home (and in buses and on train trips…) for us this term it makes our production of items run so much more smoothly and quickly on a Thursday.
Softly stuffed knitted kitten
We are enjoying weaving a little sunshine, but right now would love to be gathering some raindrops too, here’s hoping…
We have had a very productive afternoon, using the soft knitted rows of wool ( thanks Fiona and Maddy) , and wrapping up some lovely wreaths for seasonal decorations.
knitted wreaths with gumnuts and cockatoo
There were some with a very Aussie flavour…
Butterfly wreath wrapped with soft knitted mohair
and others with fuzzy fabulousness!
A wreath wrapped with a shooting star
There were even shooting stars that just couldn’t stay still for a photo!
Toadstools, flowers, nuts and berries all nestled snuggly into their new hanging homes, waiting for someone to take home a little sunshine with them from the school fair… Not long now!!
finished treasures ready for the fair
A Big thankyou to Veronika, Sharon, Maddy and Diane for their help in finishing a few more fair items. If you can spare an afternoon on Tuesday 30th October from 12.00 til 2.30, or some time on Friday 2nd November between 9.00 and 2.00, We would love some more help to tie off those loose threads, stitch that last button into place, and glue together the final few wooden toys. No experience necessary.
Hope to see you there, or at the fair!
