Mummy possum and her baby
These cheeky possums are on their way to preschool, to share in some of Lauren’s enchanting possum tales. The pattern was adapted from a basic bunny one, as I couldn’t find an Aussie possum one easily online. Jill and Amelia helped to perfect it, and we are pretty happy with the result.
Their curly ring tails have a wool wrapped pipecleaner inside for support
If you would like to make your own, you can ask me for a copy of the pattern at the next Sunshine Weavers craft day, or if you leave a comment below, I am happy to scan and email one to you.
Give me a home among the gum trees…
Our next crafting day will be at the school craft room and preschool garden at
9.00am on Friday 28th February
and we will be revisiting some basic stitches and techniques making wee felt mice and cheeky chicks. If you would like to take one home, we ask for a gold coin donation to cover materials, or you can just make one (or two or three…) for the school classes and fair.
Hope to see you there to weave a little crafting sunshine in your life.
The dolphin in kindergarten had been loved to threadbare, and there wasn’t even enough room to darn a patch or two and save his sleek form from bursting. He has been carefully recovered and is swimming his way back to kindy on Monday. We hope his double layer of felt keeps him warm in the water and ship shape for many adventures to come.

Well if there is one thing guaranteed to make it rain, it must be planning a craft group painting session in a sunny preschool garden. We did however mange some cheerful sunny paintings from the quiet shelter of the craft rooms opposite, and have turned our colourful paper into all manner of things…
Star lantern, notepads and origami hearts using wet on wet watercoloured paper
Whilst waiting for our paintings to dry we also crafted two bright window stars from kite paper and dipped some origami boats in beeswax to weather the puddles and gutters in Kindy (and maybe a bathtub and kitchen sink at home too!). It was wonderful to share the experience with two lovely ladies new to the parent craft group, and bid them a very warm welcome.
Hope you weave a little sunshine into your day today, and enjoy the blessed rain too.
The kindergarten Story dolls were in need of a little TLC, so they have been lovingly restored as faithfully as possible and are ready to return to their storytelling duties.

Our next craft day is on Friday the 14th February at the Craft room and Preschool garden doing wet on wet painting and Origami from 9am til 12.00. We hope to see you there!
Today was a quiet crafting day, as just two of us sat down to imagine a plan for the crafting year ahead. Of course we fitted in some crafting too 🙂 Needle felted hearts, and a ladybird on a soft green leaf, made in the tranquil hide away of Diane’s lovely shop Garden of the Soul, and now for sale in Suzanne’s flower filled oasis Flowers with Intention both on the main shopping street of Morpeth.

We are still looking for any crafters from total novice to expert, and anyone in between to craft along with us this year, so please think about joining us for a one off day, or a whole term or year! Our next date is set for Friday 14th Feb at school, but time and place are yet to be confirmed… we will be painting some lovely red wet on wet watercolour, and folding origami paper hearts. We hope you can join us and help us spread a little sunshine.
Well, we are back crafting in the school craft room this week, and will be making a few small festive crafts for the twilight market in week 9 at school. Come along and enjoy a cuppa whilst we craft a little holiday cheer from 11 til 1 on Thursday 21st November.
