Ahoy there!

Swimming in the cool green sea is a beautiful mermaid.   With her cosy sea pouch she can be safely tucked in and sleep in the rolling waves, or be carried carefully by friendly hands to explore the wider world.

But what is this? A pirate on the sandy shore!  I wonder if he has seen the maiden from the deep?  His hook is glinting in the afternoon sun and he is on the lookout for adventure along the edges of the salty ocean.

With stripy arms and a fine plaited belt around his felt clothes he is ready for adventure.

Is that some seaweed? Or a mermaid’s hair? A Dolphin’s tail or magical scales?

A flick of her tail and she disappears to the blurry depths

  1. We have a soft spot for mermaids anyway, but these are beautiful! My little girl has just enjoyed having this story read to her and now wants to spend the afternoon making her own. Thank you AGAIN for the inspiration!

Dear woodlandknitter it is lovely to know that crafting inspiration is finding it’s way from us to you across the globe. I love to read your blog for inspiration too, it reminds me of parts of my childhood spent in Wales 🙂
I hope your dear daughter has a lovely time with her mermaids.

  2. I love these, the mermaid especially 🙂

Thank you Sarah, you don’t know (or maybe you do) how encouraging it is to receive such positive comments here for our craft work. It motivates me no end to keep up to date with posting too.
